COVID-19 Office Update

March 28, 2020Elder Law, Estate Planning

Medicaid planningAt O’DROBINAK & NOWACZYK, P.C., the health and safety of our Clients, Team Members, and Friends of our Firm, are certainly our priority amid concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The uncertainty around the pandemic has many people concerned about exposure to the virus. We are committed to ensuring everyone’s safety and making it easy and accessible for our community to get their long term care planning and estate planning questions answered, as well as ensure they have their essential documents in place.

Precautionary Steps

Here are the precautionary steps we’ve put in place to continue to operate safely and effectively during this time:

AT OUR OFFICE Team training on current recommendations for preventative health and safety has been completed with all team members to ensure they are well-versed and adherent to best practices.

Most all of our team is currently working remotely in the comfort of their own home.  For the few employees that continue to work within the Office, we follow the guidelines of the CDC and practice proper social distancing and sanitize our hands frequently.

All members of our Team are accessible via a telephone call.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything.  219-865-2285

Virtual Options

We have heard from many people who want to talk to us about creating a Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, etc.—“just in case”–  but they need more flexible options for doing so.

Consultations – Thanks to technology, we have flexible options to meet with you or your family virtually. We are not doing any face-to-face meetings with our Clients or the community at this time, however we can meet with you virtually.  You may opt to have your consultation or review meeting via video call or a telephone conference.

Signing Documents – There may be an option in the very near future to have documents signed virtually.  Remote notarization is currently being assessed for the State of Indiana.  For the short term, we have a safe and secure signing procedure that can take place at our Office, without having any contact with our Team and without sharing the same air space.  Please check out our Facebook page (O’Drobinak & Nowaczyk P.C.) to see pictures of the signing room).

Seminars – We are putting steps in place to offer our Estate Planning and Long Term Care Planning Seminars from the safety of your home, so our community can continue to stay informed about their planning options.  We are also currently working with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana to provide live support groups for our caregiver clients who are taking care of a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Thank you for believing in our mission and continuing to be a client and friend of the firm. Our thoughts remain with those being hit hardest during this time. We remain committed to your Health, Happiness and Legacy.  Stay safe and healthy, KEEP WASHING YOUR HANDS.

Virtual Hugs to you all,

Amy 🙂
